Gold Coast Qld: Warehouse: 2025
Building Designer: Tarun Jangra
Structural Engineer: Paterdis
A commercial warehouse structure with 9000 square meters under roof. The structure includes a 200 square meter suspended office floor, 360 square meter workshop mezzanine floor, roof plant platform and fire escape tunnels. A large glazed product display and service area forms the building entrance.
The Challenge
A unique geometry in plan with merging roof slopes and conflicting drainage demands. Full height with clear span showroom and service area formed the requirements of the brief.
The outcome
Roof slopes reconfigured with the building designer to remove the reliance on problematic box gutters where eaves gutters would not affect the building design. The final roof design incorporates just a single box gutter. Structural glazing mullions were carefully located to align with the glazing manufacturer to create a seamless and attractive entry facade. Internal diving walls were of tilt-panel construction to remove any visible bracing requirements within the glazed walls.
